Reporting to the Vice President Corporate Controller the Vice President Accounting is responsible for the Business Information Division Accounting and Reporting organization. He/she will lead the Business Information Services accounting and reporting function, both domestically and internationally, providing strong leadership and management to the accounting, finance and business leadership team. The position will be located in Westlake, Texas. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Oversee and manage the accounting departments (including general ledger management, revenue billing and collections and custodial cash operations) of the Business Information Services Division.Identify critical accounting issues and concerns.Pursue strategies that streamline and improve efficiencies within the organization and the accounting processes.Leverage offshore and internal opportunities to improve accounting methodologies.Review and monitor the general accounting activities for compliance, accuracy and adherence to established corporate policy and procedures.Work with business units and corporate shared services groups to ensure appropriate corporate structure and intercompany accounting arrangements.Develop and provide accounting metrics and reporting.Develop strong relationships with the Business Information Services key stakeholder leaders.Oversee and manage processes to ensure compliance with US GAAP requirements.Lead the accounting team through month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.Train and develop the accounting team.Support internal and external audit reviews and ensure compliance with SOX.Evaluate, develop and centralize BIS accounting processes.Support SEC reporting requirements and adoption of new standards.Integration of target acquisitions and ensuring any new businesses will be structured efficiently to avoid adverse impact with stakeholders. | ||||
